I love this thing, i use it almost daily. I think it should have a rod attached to the searing plate ,which slides open . Right now , i use a long screwdriver to open

The pit boss classic is my first smoker and I should have purchased one a long time ago. The quality of the grill is really good. Assembly is easy. Cant wait to try many different meats and recipes. Dont forget that the former owner of traeger now works for Dansons which makes pit boss grills.

This grill is an absolute BEAST! Easy assembly. The control board took a minute to figure out, but I’ve got it down now. No more babysitting my smoker all day. Gets hot enough to grill steaks and burgers too.
